We are pleased to announce the purchase of a newly renovated building at 49 Lowell Street. This will help us with our growing need for more office space and enable us to increase our services to help clients become economically self sufficient and to provide program services to new nonprofits and entrepreneurs to help them grow and become sustainable. Please join us at our open house on Wed. Jan 29 at 5:30pm.
In December, we assisted more than 200 people with food, clothing, toys, and other basic needs such as oil, and housing needs, as well as more fire victims. We have assisted 6 families in Nov. and Dec. who were victims of fire.
November was a busy month! MADIP assisted fire victims from 3 fires and provided them with food, clothing, mattresses and boxsprings. We also provided food to low income children and their famility for Thanksgiving. Several emergency deliveries were made to those without oil, including a senior citizen, a mother with a newborn baby, and a single mother who was recently unemployed. Thank you to Stocker Oil, Michaud and Raymond Oil, and Holden Oil.
In October, we provided aid to seniors in need of electricity, a new bed, and moving expenses to a more handicap accessible apartment.
MADIP distributed the most aid since inception during fiscal year end June 2013. Energy accounted for 26 percent, Food was 24 percent, and clothing was 23 percent. The state and federal annual reports will be posted to this site as soon as they are finalized by our CPA.
Also, stay tuned for posting of a revised strategic plan to include a huge expansion and addition of our program services in order to have a bigger impact on the community and nonprofit sector.
We are pleased to announce that the Attorney General's office renewed our annual certificate to solicit in Nov 2013, showing that we are in good standing with reporting and fundraising requirements.
